CRYOGENIC PROCESS

Cryogenic process is the immersion of the blade in liquid nitrogen (-190 C temperature) in order to give the steel better granulation by turning more of its ostenitic structure into martensitic one and thus make the blade stronger, harder (by 1-2 HRC) and sharper. It is performed right between heat treatment and tempering (just when the blade reaches room temperature) and it can last at least 1 hour to 24 hours.

We give this process to almost all our knives (very large blades and swords are excluded for practical reasons) so that your JN knife always performs at its best.
